ALPENA — An Alpena man victimized a woman for years by sharing sexually explicit material online, police say.
Police arrested John Michael Miller, 42, of Alpena, after a woman said he had posted nude photos and pornographic videos of her online without her consent, according to a news release from the Michigan State Police.
Miller allegedly impersonated the woman online for two years, sending another man nude photos of the woman and inviting the man to watch Miller and the woman have sex through a window.
The woman and the second man learned of the alleged deception when the second man visited her home to check on Miller, only to discover his two-year correspondent was not who he believed it to be.
Miller also sent photos to other men while impersonating the woman and posted nude images of the woman on several adult websites, police believe.
Police submitted a report to the Alpena County Prosecutor’s Office in May and informed Miller of the subsequent arrest warrant on May 27.
Miller posted bond and was arraigned on misdemeanor charges in the spring, according to Alpena County Prosecutor Cynthia Muszynski.
On Tuesday, Miller waived his arraignment on felony charges in Alpena’s 88th District Court.
Miller faces one count of malicious use of a telecommunications device, one count of intentional dissemination of sexually explicit material, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
He is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 11.
