$150,000 to improve Hillman park

HILLMAN — Hillman residents will receive $150,000 to spend on improvements to the community’s Tiger Paw Playground at Hillman Tournament Park, thanks to a grant using Michigan Department of Natural Resources Recreation Passport funds, announced on Monday.

Residents who pay the passport fee when renewing their vehicle license plates support projects like the Hillman park improvements, among 16 communities sharing almost $2 million.

More than a third of Michigan registered vehicles have the recreation passport on their license plate tabs, according to the DNR. The passport grants entry into any of Michigan’s 103 state parks or 140 state forest campgrounds.
