POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County deputies respond as drivers crash into ditch, other drivers, elk.

Montmorency County Inmates lodged in Alpena Jail: 9

Oct. 4

6:18 a.m.: A welfare check was requested on an Avery Township resident, a deputy responded to the residence to find the subject to be fine. Deputy cleared without incident.

6:55 a.m.: A elk/ vehicle crash was reported to dispatch; the elk was deceased and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

4:45 p.m.: A resident in Rust Township called to report a gas leak at the residence, PIE&G along with Hillman Fire Department all responded to the scene.

7:42 p.m.: A deer vehicle accident was called into the center in Montmorency Township on M-33 North. Deputies responded and took the report.

Oct. 5

4:43 a.m.: A vehicle was reported to be in the ditch on Meridian Line Rd. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

9:57 p.m.: While on routine patrol in Briley Township a Deputy initiated a traffic stop in M-32; The driver was found to be driving without insurance. The vehicle was towed and the driver was cited for this. Officer cleared without incident

10:10 p.m.: A subject in Briley Township contacted the center about a dispute; upon the arrival of officers the other subject had left and no one appeared to be home.

Oct. 8

11:05 a.m.: A welfare check was requested on an Albert Township resident, he was found to be fine. Deputy cleared without incident.

2:41 p.m.: An erratic driver was called into dispatch, an MSP Trooper located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, the driver was transported to the hospital for medical reasons.

6:55 p.m.: A deer vehicle accident was reported on M-32; Deputies responded and took the report.

9:32 p.m.: A tree was reported to be blocking south bound lane in Loud Township; Tri-Township Fire responded and removed the tree. An officer also responded to the call. All units cleared without incident.

Oct. 9

8:43 a.m.: A 2 vehicle PI crash was reported in Avery Township. MCSO deputies, MSP Troopers, along with Tri Township Fire and EMS all responded to the scene. The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to the hospital for her injuries.

11:14 a.m.: A welfare check was requested on a resident of the Village of Hillman; the subject was found to be fine.

7:35 p.m.: A deer vehicle accident was reported in Briley Township; officer took report. No one was injured.

11:10 p.m.: While on routine patrol in Albert Township a Deputy initiated a traffic stop; The driver was cited for driving without insurance. Deputy cleared without incident.

Oct. 10

10:18 a.m.: A male subject lost control of his vehicle in the parking lot of an Albert Township business; no injuries were reported. A deputy took the report.

11:40 a.m.: A verbal dispute was reported in the Village of Hillman; deputies responded to the scene, the female left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

11:49 a.m.: A subject with a Montmorency County warrant was picked up in another county, deputies went to transport him to Alpena jail to be lodged on our warrant.

3:51 p.m.: A business in Albert Township called to request law enforcement to their place of business for customers that were not happy with their service.

6:31 p.m.: Officers assisted in an eviction in Briley Township; Deputies cleared without incident.

8:56 p.m.: Deputies responded to a residential burglar alarm in Albert Township; home was found to be secure.
