Nov. 16

5:06 p.m.: A seasonal resident of Briley Township called to request an officer to go by her cabin to check on it. Her neighbor stated there were vehicles parked in the drive and no one should be there. An officer checked the residence; there were no cars in drive, he cleared without incident.

8:40 p.m.: During a routine traffic stop on M-33 in Avery Township a 24 year old male from Spruce was taken into custody for driving while license suspended.

Nov. 18

6:10 p.m.: A call was received reporting that there was a deceased deer in the middle of the road on M-33 north near the MI DNR station. MCSO Deputy removed the deer from the road.

Nov. 19

8:28 a.m.: A DNR Conservation Officer responded to Airport Rd in Briley Township for a report of an injured eagle.

Nov. 20

8:30 a.m.: A welfare check was called in on a Hillman Township resident; an officer responded the subject was fine just having trouble with phone, officer cleared without incident.

8:47 a.m.: A Briley Township resident called referencing livestock in her yard; an officer responded to the scene. The owners of the animals were not home, a card was left requesting they contact MCSO.

1:19 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on an elderly male in Briley Township, the subject was found to be fine, but family was called to advise of the situation. Officer cleared without incident.

4:05 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm was called into the sheriff’s department; an officer was in the area and responded. A family member had accidentally set it off per homeowner.

4:43 p.m.: A hit and run in the parking lot of a local business was reported via 911 to the sheriff’s department, an officer responded to the scene to take the report.

5 p.m.: A dead deer lying the middle of the road near Jackson Lake was reported to the sheriff’s department, an officer located the deer and pulled it off the road.

Nov. 21

10:02 a.m.: A resident of Hillman Township called to report her 19-year-old son missing; her son was found with friends in an adjoining town.

12:35 p.m.: A verbal dispute was called into dispatch; parties separated no officers responded to the scene.

4:58 p.m.: A strong gas smell was reported via 911 to MCSO dispatch, an officer responded to confirm gas smell, emergency units were contacted.

Nov. 22

12:48 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on a resident of Albert Township; deputies responded and found the subject to be fine.

5:37 p.m.: A verbal dispute in The Village of Hillman had a MCSO deputy responding to the scene, the dispute was settled, and the officer cleared without incident.
