Another Presque Isle County resident infected

ALPENA — One more resident of Presque Isle County tested positive for coronavirus infection, health officials announced today.

Of the 1,034 tests administered to Presque Isle County residents, 15 have now come back positive, with 12 residents reported recovered.

No changes in positive tests or recoveries were reported elsewhere in Northeast Michigan.

One staff member at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community has tested, positive, according to the state, along with the positive tests among 61 residents and 31 staff members at MediLodge of Alpena already reported.

Other local numbers:

Tested: 1,682 Alpena County residents, 1,034 Presque Isle County residents, 831 Montmorency County residents, 1,220 Alcona County residents.

Positive tests: 111 Alpena County residents, 15 Presque Isle County residents, seven Montmorency County residents, 24 Alcona County residents.

Recovered: 98 Alpena County residents, 12 Presque Isle County residents, five Montmorency County residents, 18 Alcona County residents.

Deaths after infected with COVID-19: 13 Alpena County residents, one Presque Isle County resident, zero Montmorency County residents, one Alcona County resident.

Statewide, of the 84,050 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 60,022 have recovered as of July 31. As of today, 6,219 have died after being diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, including seven new deaths reported today.
