First Montmorency County resident infected since April 22

ALPENA — A sixth Montmorency County resident was confirmed infected with the coronavirus, District Health Department No. 4 reported today, the first time a resident of that county has tested positive since April 22.

The five Montmorency County residents previously infected have all recovered, local health officials report.

Local health officials say 111 Alpena County residents have tested positive and 90 have recovered. Twelve of 13 Presque Isle County residents infected since mid-March have recovered.

No Montmorency County or Presque Isle County residents have died while infected with the virus.

Twenty Alcona County residents have been infected since mid-March, half of whom have recovered and one of whom has died.

Statewide, 68,295 people have tested positive, 6,039 have died, and 52,841 have recovered as of July 3. The state reported 15 new deaths today.
