Barbers cheer reopening

News Photo by Julie Riddle Robert Brilinski, a regular at the State Barber Shop in Alpena, was one of the first Alpena residents to get a legal haircut as barber shops and hair salons in northern Michigan were allowed to reopen on Wednesday. At least a dozen men waited in the parking lot at the shop at around 9 a.m., some of whom had been waiting for two hours for their turn in the barber’s chair. A sign on the shop’s door, where 27 names had been scrawled on the waiting list, asked customers to not knock on the door unless it was an emergency, because, as the sign said, the barber was very busy.
