ALPENA — Four people were transported to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena on Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hamilton Road and U.S.-23 North at 2:12 p.m.

The Alpena County Sheriff’s Office said a GMC Sierra pickup driven by Marvin Dubey, 55, of Alpena, was traveling westbound on Hamilton Road, east of U.S.-23, when it failed to yield to the right-of-way and collided with the Chevrolet Captiva driven by Norman Alexander, 82, of Alpena, that was traveling northbound on U.S.-23.

The two drivers and their passengers, Mary Alexander, 80, and James Dubey, 51, were taken to the hospital.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.

The Alpena County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police Alpena-Post, Alpena Township Fire Department, and the Alpena Township Water Department.
