Huron-Manistee National Forests waive fees for Veterans Day

The U.S. Forest Service will waive fees at most day-use recreation sites in the Huron-Manistee National Forests on Monday, in observance of Veterans Day, the agency said in a news release.

Among the free activities offered to hikers, anglers, and other outdoor enthusiasts is the Nurnberg Trailhead at Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area in Mason County, the Reid Lake Foot Travel Area in Alcona County, the 4001 Canoe Landing and other access sites on the AuSable Wild and Scenic River, and Loda Lake National Wildflower Sanctuary in Newaygo County

The Veterans Day fee waiver does not apply to camping fees or other special fees such as Pine and Pere Marquette River watercraft permits.
