Habitat ReStore building remains come down

News photo by Crystal Nelson

Dave Marchlewski Excavating on Wednesday begins demolition at the site of the former Habitat for Humanity ReStore and consignment shop at the corner of Chisholm Street and 5th Avenue. The building was destroyed in a fire on Nov. 3. Habitat Executive Director Ted Fines said the excavating company will clean up the sidewalk, take down the second story of the building, and erect a temporary barrier so the public can still stand on the sidewalk for the annual holiday parade scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 28. Fines said the ReStore has relocated to a new, temporary location at 2118 Werth Road and expects to open within the next few weeks.
