A fire destroyed a home on South U.S.-23 in Greenbush on Sunday, police said in a news release.

Nobody was injured by the blaze, which fully engulfed the home. Responders from Greenbush and Mikado fire departments worked for six hours to get the fire under control, with the assistance of the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office, Oscoda Township Police Department, and Alcona County Emergency Medical Services.

The residence was declared a total loss, according to the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office. The fire is under investigation by the the Sheriff’s Office’s fire investigator.
