ALPENA — The pharmacies at Neiman’s Family Market locations in Alpena and Tawas are transferring to Rite Aid Pharmacy, effective Sept. 5, according to a statement released Friday from Neiman’s.

All pharmacy files and inventory will be transferred confidentially to the nearest Rite Aid Pharmacy locations, the statement said.

Alpena’s Rite Aid is located at 2140 U.S.-23 S., right across the street from the Neiman’s store. The Tawas Rite Aid is located at 211 W. Lake St., just down the road from that Neiman’s site.

“Rite Aid is working closely with Neiman’s Family Market to ensure that the transition is seamless for patients and their access to pharmacy care is not interrupted,” the statement reads.

The statement says Neiman’s will continue to provide Alpena and Tawas with grocery services.

Neiman founder Hal Neiman on Friday referred questions to the statement, which was posted at the Alpena store pharmacy.

Calls to Neiman’s CEO Brian Neiman were not immediately returned.
