Food resources for families during summer break
ALPENA — Summer break is near and for some families, it means heading off on vacation. But for many students in our community, it means their main source of nutrition is no longer available to them.
Students that are used to getting 10 meals a week through their school, which will now be closed for the break, may need to find additional food support. These community partners provide meals at no cost in order to reduce hunger for school aged kids in our community. This is a wonderful time to support organizations that bring this vital service to our community.
