Evacuation order lifted after house explosion

ALPENA — The area near the scene of a house explosion in Alpena on Tuesday has been given the all clear and people who were forced to evacuate can return to their homes safely.

According to Alpena Fire Chief Andy Marceau, DTE Energy was able to rectify the suspected gas leak that caused a house near the intersection of Clark Street and Merchant Street to blow up.

The blast injured two men and damaged two other nearby houses.
