Evacuation order lifted after house explosion

ALPENA — The area near the scene of a house explosion in Alpena on Tuesday has been given the all clear and people who were forced to evacuate can return to their homes safely.
According to Alpena Fire Chief Andy Marceau, DTE Energy shut down the gas to the structure, but the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. The explosion was at a house near the intersection of Clark Street and Merchant Street.
The blast injured two men and damaged two other nearby houses.
