According to an Alpena Public Schools (APS) press release on Friday, local members of the Kiwanis Club of Alpena worked “in the spirit of the Kiwanis Club Mission,” by visiting APS elementary schools to make their annual donation of children’s dictionaries for every third grade student.
“We are thankful for this generous gift by our community partners at Kiwanis as they work to support literacy for our students,” Lee Fitzpatrick, director of communications for APS, said in the release.
Fitzpatrick told The News that the Kiwanis club visited classes Tuesday through Friday, and made their final visit to Ella White Elementary on Friday.
