LANSING — State Rep. Cam Cavitt, R-Cheboygan, on Thursday honored his legislative intern, Zachary VanFleet, as he completed his internship at the state capitol in Cavitt’s office.

Zachary, a Cheboygan native and graduate of Cheboygan Area High School, was presented with an official tribute on the House floor in recognition of his contributions to the 106th district.

“Zach has been an outstanding member of our office,” said Cavitt, R-Cheboygan. “He consistently approached each task with focus, initiative, and a willingness to go above and beyond what was asked. He brought enthusiasm, reliability, and a real passion for serving the people of Northern Michigan. He strengthened our work for the residents of the 106th District, and we are grateful for everything he has done.”

During his time in Cavitt’s office, VanFleet supported research efforts, communications, constituent services, and day-to-day operations.

“Zach has a bright future ahead,” said Cavitt. “I look forward to seeing where his talents will take him. We appreciate his dedication and wish him continued success in his academic and professional journey.”
