State Representative Cam Cavitt, R-Cheboygan, welcomed Miranda Roiter of Greenbush to the state capital this week. In a press release on Thursday, Cavitt’s office states that the reception was in recognition of Roiter’s recent rise to the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout.
According to the release, Roiter is a member of Scouts America Troop 7. She is now considered the first female Eagle Scout in both Alcona and Iosco counties.
“This milestone marks a defining achievement of dedication, perseverance, and character, qualities long admired by the people of this state as hallmarks of responsible citizenship and leadership,” Cavitt said in the release. “Through her years of service and leadership, she has inspired others with her determination and willingness to take on challenges.”
The release states that Miranda Roiter — the daughter of Mark Roiter and Carrie Roiter — is a senior at Alcona High School. Miranda Roiter has completed numerous merit badges across disciplines, attended the National Scout Jamboree, and served her community through volunteerism and leadership. For her Eagle Scout Service Project, Miranda Roiter constructed ADA-accessible benches for the Harrisville Harbor.
