Alpena Chamber taps Fisher as new president

Paige Fisher

ALPENA — The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced in a press release on Tuesday that it has hired local resident Paige Fisher to be its new president and CEO for the chamber.

The Chamber said Fisher brings with her a strong background in community engagement, leadership, and project management as is evident through her work with MLive.

The Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, along with consultant Jackie Krawczak, worked diligently to interview for this position and are pleased with the results of the search.

“Paige is an energetic individual who will combine her energy and passion for Northeast Michigan with her experience in leadership and her exceptional communication to build the Chamber of Commerce into a stronger and respected organization,” Board President Robert Barrigar said.

Jackie Krawczak, a former chamber president, shared Barrigar’s sentiment on Fisher.

“The Chamber needs a strong leader who can develop a vision with the input and support from the membership and work tirelessly to bring that vision to reality,” she said in the press release. “The executive committee was excited to have received so many quality applicants and are confident that they have chosen the right person for this challenging position.”

Fisher is scheduled to begin in her new role on Monday.
