September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

ALPENA — The Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month with a special giveaway.

Adults signing up for a new library card in September will automatically be entered to win a Golden Library Card worth six free Libro.fm audiobooks. The winner will be selected on Oct. 1 and will have until Nov. 15 to redeem their audiobooks using their Golden Library card.

Libro.fm is an employee-owned Social Purpose Corporation that shares profits from your audiobook purchases with a chosen bookshop, giving users the power to keep money within their local economy. Libro.fm has an app for listening to audiobooks, or users can download the audio files in MP3 or M4B files directly to their computer and import these files into their media player of choice.

No purchase or credit card information is required on the winner’s behalf. They’ll only have to create a free Libro.fm account to redeem the audiobook credits. The giveaway is open to anyone ages 18 and up who signs up for a library card this month.

Make sure to stop by the library and sign up. Have questions? Feel free to ask a librarian, or visit blog.libro.fm/library-card to learn more.8.28.25
