HILLMAN — Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) recently donated $18,520 to support

the purchase and installation of a new digital scoreboard for the Hillman Tigers at the Hillman Community Schools football field.

As a part of the celebration, AAACU team members attended the opening football game of the

season and passed out footballs to fans. The credit union was also honored to be recognized

during the pre-game ceremony.

“AAACU loves jumping into any opportunities to give back to our communities,” a press release from AAACU stated.

AAACU’s donation to support the new Hillman Tigers football scoreboard is made possible by

the credit union’s Community Investment Fund. These funds are comprised of dollars donated back into local communities thanks to credit union members who choose to receive their monthly statements electronically. The credit union pledged to donate $9 annually for each of these estatement accounts and in 2025, AAACU will donate up to $298,600 back into the communities they serve.

AAACU is a state-chartered credit union with membership eligibility open to any resident in the state of Michigan. As of July 31, 2025, AAACU provides service to 48,423 members with total assets equal to $903,467,122.
