Aug. 4

8:20 p.m. MSP and MCSO located a male subject in Briley Township showing warrants out of Alpena and Otsego. The male was placed into custody and transported to ACJ.

8:41 p.m. A resident in Albert Township reported her windshield smashed. An investigation is still ongoing at this time.

9:06 p.m. A resident in Albert Township reported a suspicious vehicle near her house that has been parked for a couple days. She provided a vehicle description and deputies were able to locate it. Nothing suspicious occurred and the deputies cleared without incident.

Aug. 5

2:57 p.m. Hillman Fire Department responded to a residence for a smoke alarm going off without any smoke present. The alarm was replaced with a new one.

6:53 p.m. A resident in Hillman Township reported a neighbor filming her burn. The resident was advised that she was clear to burn as the DNR map showed open burning after 6p.m.. A deputy responded to the dispute and talked to all parties, advising that no crime was committed and to avoid contact with each other.

Aug. 6

1:01 a.m. Deputies responded to a commercial burglary alarm in Albert Township. A back door was found unlocked and the deputies made entry. After the building was cleared, nobody was found inside and the door was then locked.

12:23 p.m. A vehicle deer accident was reported in Rust Township; a report was taken.

Aug. 7

12:30 a.m. Deputies were notified of an erratic driver in Briley Township; they deputies responded to the area the vehicle was last seen but were unable to locate the vehicle.

5:57 a.m. A vehicle deer accident was reported in Hillman Township; a report was taken.

2:13 p.m. A vehicle deer accident was reported in Avery Township; a report was taken.

2:54 p.m. Deputies responded to a residential burglar alarm in Albert Township; once on scene the deputies found the homeowner on scene who had accidently tripped the alarm.

Aug. 8

7:47 a.m. A welfare check was requested on a resident of Avery Township; contact was made at the residence and an ambulance was sent to transport the subject to the hospital.

8:05 a.m. A cell phone was found in Hillman and dropped off at the lobby of MCSO; if anyone is missing one and can describe it contact us at 989-785-4238.

9:32 a.m. An easement issue was reported in Hillman Township. The caller was advised to contact the clerk’s office to start a civil case.

11:15 a.m. The report of a suspicious male walking along Veterans Memorial Hwy. in Hillman was made. An officer was in the area and made contact with the subject; he was found to have a warrant out of Cheboygan County. The subject was transported to meet a deputy to be lodged on the warrant

12:44 p.m. A welfare check was requested on a resident of Briley Township. A deputy responded to the residence and found the female to be fine.

2:02 p.m. The report of subjects cutting trees on state land was made to dispatch. The DNR was advised and spoke with the caller.

9:54 p.m. A resident in Briley Township reported a power outage with a downed line across the roadway. Tri Township Fire responded and PIE&G were contacted.

Aug. 9

7:30 p.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Briley Township; a report was taken.

8:05 p.m. 2 dark colored motorcycles and a dark colored sedan were reported for their erratic driving. The motorcycles were swerving in and out of traffic, the sedan had individuals standing up in the sunroof, and all vehicles were reported for their high rates of speed. The drivers were heading into Oscoda County, Oscoda dispatch was notified.

8:06 p.m. A resident in Hillman Township reported multiple missing roadway signs. The road commission was notified.

9:38 p.m. Deputies responded to a commercial hold up alarm in Albert Township. While deputies were en route, the business notified dispatch it was an accidental push.

11:39 p.m. Deputies responded to a suspicious 911 hang up. A dispute between a male and female could be heard before the caller hung up. Dispatch called the number back and the female stated all was okay. Deputies continued to the residence to ensure all was well.

Aug. 10

12:11 a.m. Fortress Security reported a commercial burglary alarm in Albert Township. Deputies met with the keyholder on the premises and were able to clear the building; it was found secure.

2:53 a.m. A noise complaint was reported in the Village of Hillman. Deputies responded and found the male who was continuously revving a vehicle in the driveway. The male stopped and went to bed for the night.

9:23 a.m. A report of a wounded goose in the yard of a Village of Hillman resident was called into dispatch. The DNR was advised.

2:19 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Albert Township to speak with individuals involved in a verbal dispute. The parties were separated and the deputies cleared without incident.

8:33 p.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Montmorency Township; a report was taken.

9:31 p.m. A driver in Briley Township broke down in a hazardous spot on the roadway. It was a larger truck that could not be moved off of the road. A deputy responded to alert oncoming traffic. The vehicle was later towed.

10:32 p.m. A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Avery Township; a report was taken.
