Euchre tournament in Alpena
ALPENA — THE Friends of Plaza Pool is hosting a Euchre tournament on March 15 at the Alpena Eagles Club. Doors will open at noon and play begins at 1 p.m. There is a $20 entry fee and a $1 high game fee. There will also be a 50-50 drawing, door prizes, and food. Participants must be at least 18 years old to play. All proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Friends of Plaza Pool.

ALPENA — On March 14, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., the Alpena County Library is hosting Do It Yourself Pop Art Style Self Portraits for area youth ages 12 years old through 17 years old. They are invited to paint and design their own bold, colorful self-portrait inspired by pop art that can include bright colors, graphic shapes, and larger-than-life style. The library encourages the kids to attend and express themselves, get creative, and turn their personalities into a masterpiece.
