ALPENA — Summer activities at the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library aren’t just for the kiddos.
There are a variety of programs just for the grown-ups too.
On Saturday at 1 p.m., author Michelle Feeney will discuss her historical fiction books, Like Family and upcoming release Like Home. Both novels are set in early 20th Century rural Michigan.
The afternoon of July 16,, play House Plant Bingo. Winners will receive a houseplant starter to take home.
Step back into history on July 20 with Soo Locks Chief Park Ranger Michelle Briggs as she
presents historic photos dating back to the 1860s to review the construction of the eight locks built on the St. Marys River and puts them into the context of world and US events.
On July 25th, the Thunder Bay Audubon Society will share tips on preventing birds from colliding with windows and why it’s important to do so.
Closing out the month, create a stenciled design from plants and leaves on a canvas bag using an UV-light-activated process. Registration is required as supplies are limited.
