Hillman Elementary School invited United States military veterans to participate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the raising of the school’s American flag on Tuesday, according to Tonya Smigelski, Hillman Elementary School kindergarten teacher. This event was held to commemorate Veterans Day and the entire school participated.

According to Smigelski, the national anthem was played as veterans and a few children raised the the flag. Students also made cards for the veterans who participated.

“A huge thank you to all of the veterans for their service,” Smigelski said.
