Andrew Marwede

Andrew Marwede graduates from WMU

Andrew Ross Marwede graduated from Western Michigan University on Dec. 15, 2018, with a bachelor’s degree in recreation: sport management.

He is the son of Janet Freeman of Alpena and Alan Marwede of Herron, and the grandson of Patricia and Harold Williams of Alpena.

Knechtel on CMU dean’s list

Dakota J. Knechtel of Alpena has been named to the Central Michigan University College of Business Administration dean’s list for the 2018 fall semester.

Knechtel is a senior double-majoring in logistics management and marketing.

Knechtel has been an active member in the supply chain management association during his entire time at CMU.

He is the son of Carney and Lynn Knechtel and grandson of Ken and Mary Jarmuzewski and Doris Knechtel, all of Alpena.

Nugents earn academic honors at U of M

Blaise Russell Nugent, son of Brad and Laurie Nugent of Lachine, has been named to the University of Michigan College of Engineering dean’s honor list for the fall 2018 semester. The dean’s honor list recognizes students with a minimum of 12 graded credits and a 3.5 grade point average or higher. He is a senior at U of M.

Alayna Denae Nugent, daughter of Brad and Laurie Nugent of Lachine, has been awarded university honors designation in Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan for the fall 2018 semester. This designation is awarded to LSA students who earned a 3.5 grade point average or higher during a term. The student must have taken a minimum of 14 credit hours. She is a sophomore at U of M.

Courtney Church on dean’s list at LSSU

Patrick Kelley of Herron has been named to the dean’s list for the first semester at Lake Superior State University. To make the dean’s list, students must achieve a minimum of 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Kelley is majoring in mechanical engineering at LSSU, where he is active in robotics, intramural soccer, and tutoring.

He is the son of Brenda and Mike Kelley of Herron, and the grandson of Carol LeFave of Alpena.

MacMaster on Albion College dean’s list

Sarah MacMaster of Alpena was named to Albion College’s dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester.

Students named to Albion College’s dean’s list must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, while taking four graded courses.

MacMaster is majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish and is a member of the Lisa and James Wilson Institute for Medicine.

MacMaster is the daughter of Donald MacMaster and Tina Rossi of Alpena and is a graduate of Alpena High School.

Ann Bell on dean’s list at Cedarville Univ.

Ann Bell of Alpena was named to the Dean’s Honor List for Fall 2018 at Cedarville University in Ohio.

This recognition required Bell to maintain a 3.75 GPA and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Bell is majoring in management at Cedarville.
