Katie Miller and Jason Romel have announced their engagement.

Miller, of Clawson, is the daughter of Chuck and Elaine Miller of Alpena.

Miller is a 2006 graduate of Alpena High School, a 2008 graduate of Alpena Community College, and a 2010 graduate of Ferris State University. She is employed as a medical laboratory scientist at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Romel, of Belleville, is the son of Dave and Marti Farmer of Hawks, and Kevin and Annette Romel of Posen.

Romel is a 2007 graduate of Posen High School, a 2009 graduate of Alpena Community College, and a 2012 graduate of Grand Valley State University. He is employed as a business development manager for Ford Motor Credit.

The couple plans to be married Aug. 10, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena.
