Carol and Michael Balog

Michael and Carol Balog of Hillman recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Michael Balog and Carol Thomson were married on May 5, 1962 at her parents’ home on Long Rapids Road in Lachine. The reception was held at Long Rapids Hall.

Their children are Jacqueline (Dean) Robinson, Curtis (Melissa) Balog, Randall (Tina) Balog, and Lisa (Kory) Goebel, all of Hillman.

They have 17 grandchildren, five great-grandsons, and one more great-grandson on the way.

They celebrated their anniversary on May 21 at their daughter Lisa and son-in-law Kory Goebel’s residence with a special dinner and a small celebration. All children, spouses and most grandchildren attended.

Mike is retired from Lafarge and farming. Carol was a stay-at-home mom and former church custodian.
