Michael “Mick” and Carol (Ritthaler) Kaiser are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.

They were married May 1, 1971 at St. Bernard’s Church in Alpena by Father Messing. Members of the wedding party were: Betty Tolsdorf and Kim Kaiser (maid of honor and best man), Karen Stepaniak, Juke Dziesinski, Judy Schiller, Larry Tolsdorf, Margie Marceau and Pat Marceau. The newlyweds took a road trip to Washington, D.C. for their honeymoon.

The couple has one child, a daughter, Danielle of Lansing, and a granddog, Brady.

Mick and Carol declined a party but have had their mailbox flooded with cards and letters for the past few weeks. Plans for a Golden Anniversary trip have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
