Mike and Ruth (Gamage) Doyle of Tawas City recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner party at Champions Retreat, a private golf club in suburban Augusta, Georgia, where they reside during the winter months. Guests included family and friends from Alpena, Clio, and East Tawas in Michigan, as well as New York, Indiana, Florida, and Georgia.

The Doyles were married in a Friday evening ceremony at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Alpena, Michigan on May 21, 1971. Mr. Doyle’s wedding party included brothers Jere and Pat Doyle, Robert Gamage, Steve Scudder, and Robb Kane. Steve and Mark Doyle were ushers. Mrs. Doyle’s wedding party included Dee Ann Smith, Kathy Dailey, Wendy Dunbar Ross, Jane Doyle McNeil, and Joan Doyle Huffine.

During the past 50 years the Doyles have lived in Alpena, Mt. Pleasant, Jackson, Farmington Hills, and East Tawas, as well as Toledo, Ohio; Acton, Massachusetts; Augusta and Dalton, Georgia. They now split the year between Tawas City and Evans, Georgia.
