Hartmans celebrate 60th anniversary
Gary and Mary Hartman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last month on August 16 at the Oakland Hunt Club located on the Alpena/Alcona County line. Approximately 60 close friends and relatives were in attendance, and the attendees were treated with drinks and appetizers, a buffet-style dinner, trivia games with prizes, and a singalong.
Gary John Hartman and Mary Ellen Henry were united in marriage on July 11, 1959, in Alpena.
The couple has three children: Kevin Hartman (Sally) of East Granby, Conn.; Kathy Ferris (Del) of Alpena; and Karl Hartman of Kingsley, Mich. They also have several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with three grandchildren in attendance at the anniversary celebration (Geoffrey, Genna, and Gordon Hartman, all of East Granby, Conn.).
Gary was a 1954 graduate of Alpena High School, and Mary was a 1959 graduate of Alpena Catholic Central High School. Both worked for many decades in the Alpena area: Gary as a draftsman/engineer predominantly at Huron Portland Cement and Eagle Engineering, and Mary as a cosmetologist at the Figurehead and J.C. Penney’s.
Family and friends wish congratulations to Gary and Mary.
