Donald and Betty Smith celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Feb. 28. They were married at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Redford in 1953.

Donald is the son of Herbert and Mildred Smith of Detroit and Betty is the daughter of Frank and Ellen Oliver of Lachine.

Don and Betty made their home in Beverly Hills, Mich., where they raised their family.

They have four children: Sharon, Ken, Carol and David, and nine grandchildren. They have lived in Florida for the past 24 years, but enjoy their summers in Long Rapids.

They celebrated their anniversary with family in Spring Hill, Fla.
