Sabourins celebrate 50th anniversary

Paul and Mary Pat Sabourin of 325 S. Second, Alpena, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. Mr. Sabourin and the former Mary Pat Dumsch were married June 3, 1967 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Alpena.

They are the parents of three children: Kevin (Kelly) Sabourin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Brian Sabourin of Alpena and Sara Sabourin of Palm Harbor, Fla. They also have three grandchildren: Killiah-Lachlan, Kirin and Keigin Sabourin, all of St. Petersburg.

Mary Pat’s uncle, Father John O’Callaghan, who married them 50 years ago, also renewed their vows and blessed their marriage when the couple visited him in Florida. Witnessing the renewal of vows was Mary Pat’s maid-of-honor and sister, Francie, and her husband, Patrick Ferguson. Later this summer there will be a celebration at their family cottage.

Paul is a real estate appraiser. Mary Pat is retired from Alpena Public Schools.
