Leonard and Janet Zolnierek of 3223 Piper Rd., Alpena, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Churchill Pointe Inn in Hubbard Lake. Mr. Zolnierek and the former Janet Smolinski were married May 9, 1964, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Alpena.

Attending the celebration were Joseph and Bernice Zolnierek, who served as attendants at the couple’s wedding. Also in attendance were friends Paul and Karen Stolt of Petoskey.

The couple have four children: Kurt (Lorna) Zolnierek of Holt; Kathleen Zolnierek Skiba of Lake Orion; Joseph (Traci) Zolnierek of Alpena and Luciana (Terry) King of Alpena. They also have six grandchildren: Nicole and Nolan of Holt; Trevor and Samantha of Alpena; and Kimberly and Douglas of Alpena.

Leonard is retired from Zolnierek Insurance and Janet from Alpena General Hospital.
