David and Jeanette Frary of 3114 Indian Reserve Rd., celebrated their 60th anniversary on Sept. 1 at a mass at St. Bernard Catholic Church that included a special blessing for them. The service was followed by a party with family and friends at Lafarge Social Club.

Mr. Frary and the former Jeanette Suszek were married Sept. 5, 1953 at St. Bernard’s. They have six children: John (Julie) Frary of Columbus, Ohio; Wanda (Marty) Gougeon of Alpena; Daniel (Marti) Frary of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Brenda Frary of Madison, Wis.; Melinda (John) Ritter of Alpena; and David Frary of Seattle, Wash.

Grandchildren in attendance at the couple’s anniversary celebration were Ben (Carmen) Gougeon of New York, N.Y.; Nick (Ashley) Frary of Oklahoma City; Elizabeth Gougeon of Kalamazoo; Rebekah Gougeon of Alpena; and Aaron, Amanda, Amy, Andrea and Andrew Frary of Alpena. Also in attendance was great-granddaughter Lucy Frary.
