George R. and Bette Bromund of 618 Red Robin Rd., Seffner, Fla., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at an open house with friends and family held at the home of daughter Denise (Ted) in Riverview, Fla.

Mr. Bromund and the former Sarah E. Matchem were married Oct. 17, 1953 in Oscoda by Father Du Russell at Sacred Heart Parrish. They honeymooned in the Upper Peninsula and settled in Alpena, Mr. Bromund’s hometown.

George and Bette raised six children in Alpena: Denise (Ted) Cranmer of Riverview, Fla., Leonard (Kris) of Alpena, Steven (deceased 1976), David (deceased 1988), Lisa (Scott) Murray of Flint and William of Hudson, Fla. They have four grandchildren: Maggie, Mitch, Sean, Renee’.
