Kenneth and Mary Jarmuzewski celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner party on Aug. 3, 2013, at the Sanctuary Inn in Alpena. Celebrating with the couple were family and friends, along with members of the original wedding party, including Gary Jarmuzewski, Anne (Jodway) Peters, Robert Bobola and Larry LaCross. The couple and immediate family members continued the celebration the next morning when they gathered for breakfast at CW’s Barbecue, inside the Sanctuary Inn.

Mr. Jarmuzewski and the former Mary Jodway were married on July 20, 1963, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Rev. Ignatius O’Brien officiated the 11 a.m. double-ring ceremony.

Ken and Mary have three daughters: Lynn and Carney Knechtel, and Lisa and Tim VanDusen, all of Alpena, and Lori and Donn Westman of Traverse City. The couple also has six grandchildren: Connor and Dakota Knechtel, Matthew and Mitchell Westman, and Jenna and Kyle VanDusen.

The couple is enjoying retirement.
