Kurt and Margie Haaxma of 1137 Washington, Alpena, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren at Word of Life Baptist Church morning service. Afterward, they were honored with a lovely dinner planned at Holiday Inn of Alpena by their children.

Their children are Jeff and Kim Kowalski, Jim and April Bluck, and David and Heidi Golson. Grandchildren include Ken and Jami Cooke, Christopher Kowaski, Mikaela Bluck, Emily Bluck and Seth Golson.

Honored guest at the dinner was Aunt Hazel Heussner. Donna Pardieke gave a very special invocation before dinner, and a meaningful toast was delivered by Jim Bluck. A creative poem for the couple was written and read by Dave Golson, which he entitled, “A Love of Elemental Proportions.” A video of pictures of the couple’s life together over the 30 past years was shared with the attendees. Piano music was played by Katie.

Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Haaxma were married on June 10, 1983, and spent their honeymoon in Israel.
