Powerful Tools for Caregivers
This program starts Feb. 9 and consists of six sessions held once a week. Classes will be held online via Zoom from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The educational series aims to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for someone else by helping reduce stress, guilt, anger, and depression. It also aims to increase self-care and teach skills such as problem-solving, goal setting, and effective communication.
A Matter of Balance
This program starts Feb. 9 and will take place via Zoom from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This workshop series aims to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity level of older adults who have this concern. The eight-week workshop meets weekly for two hours, and instructors cover how to set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and how to increase strength and balance, all with a larger goal of viewing falls as controllable events.
