Alpena Golf Club culminated this season’s Par 3 Challenge and Million Dollar Shootout on Sunday, Aug. 24. Nine golfers qualified and one lucky blind draw participant had the opportunity to swing for a hole-in-one.

Following the shootout, a banquet was held with prizes awarded. Door prizes followed dinner. Following the dinner, Paul Sabourin, chairman for the event, presented a check in the amount of $1,470 to this year’s beneficiary, The Salvation Army. Over the past 16 years, the Par 3 Challenge has been in existence, and Alpena Golf Club has donated nearly $20,000 to local charities.
