HILLMAN — The Hillman VFW Post 2356 held a meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, with 16 members present, including new members.

Time was spent organizing VJ Day events for Aug. 9, honor guards and military funerals, plus a gun raffle.

The Post’s Friday Night Fish Fry is still 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday at the VFW Post.

The Post sells, made in the United States, polyester 3’x5′ American Flags for $30. There is also flag drop box for old flags outside the VFW’s front door.

Speaking of flags, Post members noticed the new flags flying in downtown Hillman.

If anyone has a flagpole they can’t use and wants to part with it, call Jim Stoddard at 989-742-4038 and Post members will find someone who would love to use it.

Medical supplies are available for loan by calling Wayne at 989-255-4412. Anyone with medical items not needed, please call the Post so they can continually upgrade.

The next regular meeting was scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.
