ALPENA — The Alpena Longbeards hosted a special fishing day on Aug. 13 at Paxton Quarry, with 17 children attending the event. Free food and prizes were given to all the youngsters, and plenty of fish were caught and released.

The Longbeards extend a special thanks to Pepsi Co. and Clem’s Bait and Tackle for their generous donations. They would also like to thank sponsors, Amrize, Thunder Bay Walleye Club, Alpena Sportsmen’s Club, Sunrise Side Delta Waterfowl.
