Community canine event today

Today, Calia’s EmPURRium at the Water Street Commons will be hosting Reborn Rescue’s community canine day. People can meet and greet adoptable dogs at 123 Water St. in downtown Alpena.

Christmas in July at the Homestead at Grand Lake

Christmas in July will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26 at Homestead Artisan Market and Gallery, 8015 E. Grand Lake Road, Presque Isle. This event is in conjunction with Grand Lake Garage Sale Days. Stop, shop and support the Homestead’s 29 local artists and artisans. There will be Christmas cookies, music and Christmas items.

Hubbard Lake 5K Saturday

A 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Hubbard Lake North End Park, with all proceeds to benefit the Hubbard Lake Community Center. To register, go to bit.ly/hubbardlakefunrun2025.

Community Church in the Park at Alpena Bandshell

Community Church in the Park will be held at 8:30 a.m. every Sunday during July and August at the Alpena Bandshell at Bay View Park. First United Methodist Church invites you to come and enjoy coffee, juice and snacks as you worship in this beautiful lakeshore setting.

Posen VFW Breakfast July 27

A breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, July 27 at the Posen VFW Hall. The menu includes eggs, sausage, ham, toast, pancakes, desserts, and beverages, for $10 per adult, $5 per child ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and younger. If you have questions, call 989-379-2786.

CCHS Class of 1960 Reunion Aug. 30

The 1960 Class of Catholic Central High School will hold their 65th year reunion starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 in the Ember Room at JJ’s Steak and Pizza House on North 2nd Avenue in Alpena.
