Bridge results announced

Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club results have been announced for this week. Gordon Bennett and Marge French placed first, followed by Lee Stamos and Deanna Brege in second, and Jackie Kennedy and Loretta Reynolds in third.

ALL program Thursday

The Association of Lifelong Learners will learn about Condominium Living from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at M. Briggs Center, presented by Jere Doyle, a three-time homeowner of a condominium and current president of his association. A representative of Alpena Insurance Agency will be joining in this presentation to provide an understanding of condominium insurance and answer questions.

Edible sculpture program Friday

Teen/Tween Edible Sculptures will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the Alpena County Library. Youth ages 8 to 18 will build edible sculptures within the challenge guidelines. A tween winner and teen winner will receive a prize. Sculptures can be eaten afterward. Registration for this free program is recommended at bit.ly/406tkJg.

Comic drawing workshop Saturday at ACL

Jerry DeCaire will present his own signature live drawing performance in a comic drawing workshop from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Alpena County Library. DeCaire will show how a comic book is made from beginning to end. This free program is for teens and tweens.

Wine and beer tasting Saturday at Brown Trout

Wine and craft beer tasting will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, for $20 per adult, 21 and older, which includes a wine sampling glass, at the Alpena Beverage Co. tent at the Michigan Brown Trout Festival.

All Saints picnic Saturday

All Saints Parish will host a picnic from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Center of Evangelization (St. John Church at the corner of 1st Avenue and North Street in Alpena). Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a free sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans, and watermelon, while it lasts.

Cornhole tournament Sunday at Brown Trout

A cornhole tournament will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Michigan Brown Trout Festival in Alpena. Registration begins at 4 p.m. and the tournament starts at 4:30 p.m. The entry fee is $25 per person or $50 per team, and you must be 21 or over to enter.
