‘HELLO YELLOW’ juried art show submissions being accepted

ALPENA — Art in the Loft is accepting submissions for its “HELLO YELLOW” juried art show now through Sept. 7. The show will open on Oct. 2.

A description of the show’s theme states that yellow is “a hue that evokes warmth, optimism, and creativity. Often associated with sunshine and joy, it radiates energy and brightness, inviting viewers to explore its various meanings across cultures and contexts. From the cheerful blooms of spring flowers to the cautionary glow of traffic lights, it symbolizes both happiness and alertness. In this exhibit, artists will delve into the color’s emotional spectrum, capturing its essence in bold strokes and subtle nuances, while prompting reflection on how this color influences our perceptions of life, hope, and renewal.”

Artists are to use yellow in at least 50% of their work of art. The submission fee is $35 for the first entry, and $10 per additional entry, with a maximum of three entries per artist.

Submissions must be made by 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 7. For details, visit artintheloft.org.
