The Josh Sims Memorial Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, May 31 at River’s Edge Golf Club, 6373 Werth Road in Alpena County.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to programs in Alpena and the surrounding areas dedicated to suicide prevention, education, and awareness. Proceeds also fund scholarships and grants in Sims’ name.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. on May 31, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. There will be prizes for winners, raffle items, a 50/50 drawing, and awards for longest drive and closest to the pin, as well as a putting contest.

Create your own team of four and pay $85 per player, which includes cart use, 18 holes of golf, plus special events, and lunch at the turn.
