Art in the Loft’s SummerView opens Thursday

Art in the Loft’s SummerView exhibit opens with an artist reception at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Art in the Loft, located on the third floor of the Center Building at 109 N. 2nd Ave. in downtown Alpena.

Remembering Our Children Walk June 14

Remembering Our Children, for families who have lost a child of any age, will host a walk starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14 at the Alpena County Fairgrounds on 11th Avenue.

Family and friends are invited to join R.O.C. to celebrate the life and memory of our children who have died.

The walk will last about an hour. Participants will walk to R.O.C.’s Tree of Remembrance, release butterflies, then proceed back to the fairgrounds. A short gathering and light refreshments will be provided after the walk. Feel free to wear a T-shirt with a picture of your child on it. Please bring an umbrella in case of rain. The walk will be held, rain or shine.
