13th annual Grub Crawl to take place Thursday

ALPENA — Don’t miss out on your chance to get tickets for the 13th Annual Grub Crawl. This year’s pirate themed event will be held Thursday. There are eight participating locations with optional activities/games at each location. Participating locations include: Court Yard Restaurant, HopSide Brewery, Joe’s Bar, Latitudes Tavern, Nowicki’s Sausage Shoppe, PIF Cider, Player’s Pub & Grub, and Red Brick Tap & Barrel. Grub Crawlers will have from 5:30 to 10 p.m. to collect stickers from all locations and can then turn in completed game boards by 10 p.m. for a chance to win prizes. Tickets are available for $20 each at the Alpena Chamber and must be purchased in advance. Tickets include bandana, game board, shuttle, games, appetizers, and drink specials. Sponsors include Alpena Beverage Company, Emery Enterprises, H&R Block, HPC Credit Union, Kendall Electric, Plowman’s Collision, Real Estate One, Thunder Bay Transportation Authority, and Wolverine State Credit Union. Catholic Central High School Class of 1959 plans 65th reunion

Family Night at the Drive In to feature Monsters, Inc.

Friends Together will host Family Night at the Drive In at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21. Monsters, Inc. will be featured on the big screen. Tickets are $25 per parking space/carload and on sale now at bit.ly/FTDrive-In. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., so be sure to participate in the “Monster” Raffle before the show. Stuffed monsters will be available for $10 and will act as your ticket to win cash and prizes. The drawing will be held between 8 and 11 p.m.
