Dr. Patricia L. Harps

Patricia L. Harps earns doctorate

Congratulations to Patricia L. Harps, daughter of Patricia A. Marchlewski and the late John T. Marchlewski, on earning her Doctorate in Public Health from Capella University on June 15, 2024. A 1977 graduate of Alpena High School, Pat served in the U.S. Army for 13.5 years, obtaining her practical nursing license and an associate’s degree in science. After leaving the Army, she earned an associate’s degree in nursing from New Mexico State University, followed by a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and a Postmaster’s Certificate as a nurse practitioner from the University of Phoenix.

Much of Pat’s nursing career has been spent in Telemetry and Intensive Care. As a Nurse Practitioner, she has focused on serving under-served populations. In 2014, she transitioned to conducting house call visits for a major health care organization specializing in caring for the chronically ill in El Paso, Texas.

Pat is currently in the process of publishing a book, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2024. Despite the tragic loss of her husband in 2017, Pat finds immense pride in her role as a mother and grandmother.

Congratulations, Dr. Harps, on your outstanding achievement!
