ALPENA — The Auxiliary to VFW 2496 was presided over by President Darryl at 6 p.m. on April 9, with 19 members attending.

The secretary, treasurer and bingo reports were given and approved, pending audit.

One application for life membership was approved.

A donation of $300 was made to Veteran Suicide Prevention.

Linda reminded everyone of her Spring Fling on April 22 and requested cupcakes for the event.

Nominations for the election of officers for the 2024-2025 year were made and voted on. Elected President is Patrick Niedzweicki; Sr. Vice is Cheryl Ludwiczak; Jr. Vice is Linda Millard; Treasurer-Secretary is Barb Stevens; Chaplain is Liz Olson; Conductress is Nancy Montie; Guard is Winona Raquepaw: and 3-year Trustee is Mary Talaska.

A $250 donation was made to Friends Together for their current fundraiser.

The flags for the graves are to be placed at the cemetery the week before Memorial Day.

After the closing ritual, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15pm. The next meeting is at 6 p.m. on May 14.
